    The joint generally these are replaced as part of halfshaft assembly costs will vary widely im sure.

    No, it’s most definitely the cv joints, and costs will vary from shop to shop. Some cars eat cv joints, old ford probes are especially bad about it, and some go 10 years without needing replacement, but it’s a pretty standard thing.
