How do I use the over drive in my 97 infiniti?

I just recently bought a used 97 Nissan Infiniti(I drove a ford tempo since I got my license) and it didn’t come with a manual so I am curious if anyone knows how to use the over drive properly as I don’t want to use it wrong and risk engine damage?
