Oliver asked:

I performed a service on the car myself; but the check engine light is still on. How do I reset it myself without having to purchase an expensive OBD scanner?
I know AutoZone or Checkers can do this for free, but there are no locations nearby where I live. I already tried to disconnect the battery, but that did not work.

Thanks in advance for any insightful answers.

Fred

The brake pedal times should work.

If the ecu has a non-volite memory the light will never go away no matter how long you leave the battery disconnected. If the cars not running bad right now I would not worry about it. Then when your close to AZ or CHKS, you can get it cleared. Also if you fixed it right then it should clear it self after a few drive cycles, the code maybe there, but the light would be off. Hope this helps.
